Assessment

At Bannerman Road Community Academy we believe that assessment is integral to learning. Children are assessed regularly throughout their lessons, at the end of units and at key points in the year. The assessments are used to inform planning for the next day, future planning and to inform intervention where necessary. Assessment takes many forms and can be recorded through feedback and marking, learning conversations and more formalised tests. Parents meetings are twice a year and this is where you will be informed of your child’s progress in their learning. Reports are written in the Summer Term.

As an Academy we assess the children at 3 points in their Primary Education, at the end of the EYFS, at the end of KS1 and at the end of KS2. These assessments are reported to the DfE.
