TEACHING ASSISTANT (ASD SPECIALIST)

Permanent, part time (31.25 hours per week) term time only including inset days.

We require a specialist-teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a child in key stage 2 and work alongside the SENCo and class teachers in developing our ASD aware practice across the school. 

Salary: VT Grade 7 to VT Grade 8, SP18-25 £18,800 to £23,573 per annum, pro rata (actual salary £13,581 - £17,029 per annum) dependent on experience + Health Care Cash Plan and Benefits Package. 

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

We are looking to recruit a specialist ASD TA who is genuinely inspired to work with children with Autism within a strong, supportive team, delivering high quality provision for the children within our care. 

Previous experience of working with children with ASD is essential, as well as a willingness to support and advise colleagues as is flexibility and a sense of humour.  We strive to offer the highest level of education and trust that you will have equally high expectations. The Trust offers a wide variety of CPD opportunities.

The successful candidate will have:

• GCSEs at Grade C or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications).

• CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.

• A proficiency in improving basic numeracy and literacy with specialist skills in literacy that will enable you to work with targeted individuals.

• Knowledge and experience working with ASD children and the strategies needed to support them

• Ability to support other staff and deliver CPD

• Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.

• Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and barriers to learning
