Fixed term until 31/8/2020, part-time (12.5 hours per week) term time only to start as soon as possible.

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

We are seeking a dedicated individual who will:

• Assess and delivery a specialist curriculum to newly arrived students and those who are at early stages of learning English.

• Seek to enable students to become more independent learners and help to raise standards of their achievement.

• Be responsible for working with and supporting colleagues to raise attainment for students with EAL. This will involve identifying students with EAL who require support/ intervention; planning for this provision and delivering appropriate and high quality teaching.

The successful candidate will have:

• A desire to take an active part in ensuring all students achieve more than they ever thought possible.

• Experience of working effectively supporting children in a learning environment and specifically those with English as additional language.

• Experience of working cooperatively as part of a team.

• Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and in particular, barriers to learning.

• A good understanding and working knowledge of the curriculum

• A GCSE grade of C or higher in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications)

• Be able to build strong relationships with students and establish positive behaviour for learning.
