ENHANCED PROVISION SPECIALIST SEN 

TEACHING ASSISTANTS  

Permanent, part time, 32.5 hours per week (8.30am-3.30pm, with occasional additional hours for meetings until 4.30) term time only including inset days

Salary: VTG 8, SP22-25 £21,495 - £23,573 per annum, pro rata (actual salary £16,149 - £17,710 per annum) dependent on experience + Health Care Cash Plan and Benefits Package. 

We require 2 Specialist Teaching Assistants to work 1:1, with small groups and alongside class teachers supporting children with SEND. The role is to work alongside the SENCo in developing our SEND aware practice across the school. 

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

We are looking to recruit specialists SEND Teaching Assistants who are genuinely inspired and experienced in working with children with SEND within a strong, supportive team, delivering high quality provision for the children within our care. You would support SLT/ SENDCo in devising school strategies to support children with SEND. Lead and support other TA’s in developing high quality SEND practice.

Previous experience of working with children with SEND is essential, as well as a willingness to support and advise colleagues as is flexibility and a sense of humour.  We strive to offer the highest level of education and trust that you will have equally high expectations. The successful candidates will have:

• GCSEs at Grade C or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications).

• Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.

• Knowledge and experience working with SEND children and the strategies needed to support them

• Ability to support other staff and deliver CPD

• Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.

• Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and barriers to learning

• Emotional resilience and a proactive can do attitude

• Experience working within Early Years or KS1 but with a willingness to work across key stages should the need arise.
